Sth American Fruits MiscRollinia - Brazilian Custard Apple
A relative of the cherimoya this plant has its origins in tropical America. The fruit about 100mm in diameter has a creamy juicy and delicious flesh, according to some tasting like lemon meringue pie. Fruits within 4 years from seed. Seed selected from extremely sweet and flavoursome fruit with firm white flesh and few seeds.
MonsteraOften called the Fruit Salad plant as the ripened fruit has a pineapple-banana odour and fruit salad taste. The mature fruit has a yellow-green, violet-spotted rind of hexagonal plates covering a creamy-white, soft pulp.

A highly ornamental shrub with spreading branches and aromatic foliage. The young bronze foliage turns a glossy deep green when mature. The delicate white flowers are followed within 3 weeks by maroon ribbed fruit.
Pepino - Kendall Gold
Small bush rarely above 1 m tall with yellow fruit stripped purple up to 10cm. Flavour is like a juicy rock melon. Only pick fragrant, slightly soft fruit which are ripe.
Achiote - Bixa
Source of annato. Small tree produces spiky fruit containing dark red seeds that are used as a commercial dye. Tree is extremely beautiful in full flowering and fruiting. Can be grown in a container, prefers a frost free climate
Peanut Butter Tree
A very attractive and hardy shrub bearing small orange/red fruit with a pasty texture and rich sweet flavour when fully ripe. Fruit ripens in late summer. Will tolerate light frosts.
Ice Cream Bean
A beautiful ornamental tree that produces bean pods containing soft fluffy flesh that is sweet and juicy. Frost tender when young. Very quick growing. Can be a potential weed problem in subtropical regions.
Soursop - Grafted
This grafted selection was made from a tree cropping in a frost free region of Kyogle. Prefers a tropical climate but worth trying in marginal climates by the enthusiast fruit grower. Not suitable for temperate climates.
Green Sapote
A close relative of the Mamey Sapote but more compact and cold hardier. The green fruit turns to gold when ripe and has a superior sweeter flavour to the Mamey. Seeds can be roasted and eaten. Good drainage is essential.
Naranjilla
This small orange fruit can be used to make a delicious juice considered a delicacy in South American parts. The tree is very attractive with large leaves that have a purple velvet effect, although some can have thorns on the leaves and stems.
Cape Gooseberry
This is a low lying bush with bright orange berries enclosed in a pale brown parchment-like case. The berry is the size of a cherry tomato, is very aromatic and full of tiny hard seeds. They are delicious eaten straight or made into gooseberry Jam.
Cherry of Rio Grande
This beautiful small tree has very attractive dark glossy-green wax-like leaves and a peeling bark. The showy white flowers are followed by dark purple plum sized fruit.
