As long as your tree has some foliage on it , it should survive .. btw you do mean 3 or 4 meters high and not 3 quarteres of a meter !! I like the tatse of Abius , and want a few trees as I noticed a big diference in bearing times .. great to spread the harvest .

Im suprised your abiu tree is that big.

Is it quite old? does it fruit often due to our climate?

Plenty of fruit ,I think its like a cross between an apple and a pear but the description vary's but, Yum Yum for sure.

Yes i can give you seed not a prob when its fruiting. I'll let you both know when it begins to fruit.

Cultivar wouldn't know, it was here when I moved in.

I couldn't even grow one in western Brisbane (a freak frost killed it!). It's great to hear about so many people with abiu trees in Brisbane. Maybe they can stand small amounts of frost when they get bigger.

Diana.
