There are a few sources listed overseas with a google search. AQIS doesn't recognize it at this stage so you would have trouble getting it through customs worse luck.

The only things I'm look for right now are Ultra Dwarf Hog Plum and Bayberry seeds.
But don't worry if you don't have these, just send your addresses to my email: lintonius at hotmail.com
That's for both the Bael seeds and the Indian Gooseberry.

Hi Natalie
I don't sell the Bael seeds, I just had a couple given to me from India.
But there are plenty being advertised on the internet at the moment for just a few dollars - see Phil's post above.
It won't matter which country you get them from but you will need to check if they are allowed through customs in New Zealand. Hope this helps.

Attention Julie - Amlas popping up!
The phyllanthuses have started popping up over the last few days from the last batch of seeds. Please go and check them as I planted mine at the same time as you, so yours should be growing now as well.
If anyone else needs some viable seeds of Indian Gooseberry Tree, please let me know as I still have a few left. Cheers.

Oh no! Tops all nipped off by b****y slugs! I have my seedlings raised up in a small garden greenhouse I bought. They stand on a sort of open wire shelf, and I thought this would protect them.
I have beaten snails, but just can't seem to beat the slugs - they are evrywhere.
Linton, I feel awful about this, but if you have a few left I will happily send postage.

So sorry to hear they got eaten. Can't you sprinkle some snail pellets like Defender around them or in the greenhouse? The snail pellets usually kill all the slugs too.
You are most welcome to the seeds I have left. I won't be needing them any more now that I have some plants growing. Will send tomorrrow.

Linton, I didn't bother, because I thought the slugs couldn't get to them. I was wrong! It actually only takes one slug chewing overnight to do a lot of damage.

Hi BJ - I think you are after the Bael seeds but we are growing the Amla seeds which are Indian Gooseberry. Sorry we are talking about this in the wrong topic.
Regarding the Bael seeds I am still trying but it is the wrong season now since I am after the late season cultivars which are much sweeter tasting than wild Bael trees. The seeds from the cultivated type should be available in another 2 months, roughly.

Hi Sumit
I have tried to grow a few different batches of Bael seeds but they didn't germinate. The last fresh lot of seeds I got have been planted for about one month but now that I have some Gibberellic acid I am going to see if that works on them.
Did you want the sour type of Bilva fruit or the sweet variety? The sweet seeds won't be in season until next month. If you can send me your email address I will let you know when I have a plant or some seeds available. My email is lintonius at hotmail.com.
Cheers.

Hi BJ
The Bael seedlings have been sent to you. They were very hard to pack being so tiny and delicate I'm afraid they may become squashed during the transit!
Please let me know if they survive the journey, if not I will send some more when they get a bit bigger. Cheers!

I have some of the Bael seedlings outside and some on the verandah and the ones under cover seem to be doing better but still only 1 - 2 inches high. I don't expect much growth to occur until it's warmer in Spring. Cheers!

Hi pooja
Most of them have died this winter and none of them ever grew any more after they first sprouted a few years ago.
So there are none that I can send you at the moment and if they don't come back by this summer I will give up on this species.
You could try Forbidden Fruits Nursery who had some more established plants. Chow.

Hi

Has anyone in Melbourne had success keeping the plants alive for more than a few years? I had seeds from India. They did germinate. The growth was really slow and after 2-3 years, the plants would die.
