Linton says... Hi Natalie I don't sell the Bael seeds, I just had a couple given to me from India. But there are plenty being advertised on the internet at the moment for just a few dollars - see Phil's post above. It won't matter which country you get them from but you will need to check if they are allowed through customs in New Zealand. Hope this helps. | About the Author Linton Springvale 12th August 2012 1:22pm #UserID: 2286 Posts: 994 View All Linton's Edible Fruit Trees |

Linton says... Attention Julie - Amlas popping up! The phyllanthuses have started popping up over the last few days from the last batch of seeds. Please go and check them as I planted mine at the same time as you, so yours should be growing now as well. If anyone else needs some viable seeds of Indian Gooseberry Tree, please let me know as I still have a few left. Cheers. | About the Author Linton Springvale, Vic 24th November 2012 6:56pm #UserID: 2286 Posts: 994 View All Linton's Edible Fruit Trees |

Julie says... Oh no! Tops all nipped off by b****y slugs! I have my seedlings raised up in a small garden greenhouse I bought. They stand on a sort of open wire shelf, and I thought this would protect them. I have beaten snails, but just can't seem to beat the slugs - they are evrywhere. Linton, I feel awful about this, but if you have a few left I will happily send postage. | About the Author Julie Roleystone WA 26th November 2012 8:34pm #UserID: 154 Posts: 1842 View All Julie's Edible Fruit Trees |
Linton says... So sorry to hear they got eaten. Can't you sprinkle some snail pellets like Defender around them or in the greenhouse? The snail pellets usually kill all the slugs too. You are most welcome to the seeds I have left. I won't be needing them any more now that I have some plants growing. Will send tomorrrow. | About the Author Linton Springvale, Vic 27th November 2012 6:36pm #UserID: 2286 Posts: 994 View All Linton's Edible Fruit Trees |

Linton says... Hi BJ - I think you are after the Bael seeds but we are growing the Amla seeds which are Indian Gooseberry. Sorry we are talking about this in the wrong topic. Regarding the Bael seeds I am still trying but it is the wrong season now since I am after the late season cultivars which are much sweeter tasting than wild Bael trees. The seeds from the cultivated type should be available in another 2 months, roughly. | About the Author Linton Springvale, Vic 28th November 2012 10:45am #UserID: 2286 Posts: 994 View All Linton's Edible Fruit Trees |

Linton says... Hi Sumit I have tried to grow a few different batches of Bael seeds but they didn't germinate. The last fresh lot of seeds I got have been planted for about one month but now that I have some Gibberellic acid I am going to see if that works on them. Did you want the sour type of Bilva fruit or the sweet variety? The sweet seeds won't be in season until next month. If you can send me your email address I will let you know when I have a plant or some seeds available. My email is lintonius at hotmail.com. Sothis says... Hi Linton, Hope alls well. Photos of the bael hatchlings looks great. If possible could you save me a hatchling. Happy to wait until its a bit more stable. When ready I can come over and pick them up. Do you keep them outdoors in the Melbourne winter. I have tulasi(7 yr Basil) hatchlings if you are interested. | About the Author Sothis 2nd June 2013 8:29am #UserID: 7811 Posts: 2 View All Sothis's Edible Fruit Trees |
Linton says... Hi Sothis I have reserved some Bael seedlings for you so we can swap for tulasi if you like. I have some of the Bael seedlings outside and some on the verandah and the ones under cover seem to be doing better but still only 1 - 2 inches high. I don't expect much growth to occur until it's warmer in Spring. Linton says... Hi pooja Most of them have died this winter and none of them ever grew any more after they first sprouted a few years ago. So there are none that I can send you at the moment and if they don't come back by this summer I will give up on this species. You could try Forbidden Fruits Nursery who had some more established plants.
