I have just purchased a boysenberry & a silvanberry & have then read that they need a lot of chill hours to fruit. Has anyone in Perth managed to grow these two & actually get fruit? Thanks

Hi Kath. I used to grow boysenberries, but I am in the hills, where it gets pretty cold.

The problem I had (don't want to put you off!) was that they ripened around the same time as the first hot east winds. They were facing east, with shade in the afternoons, so they got shrivelled up. I never picked a ripe juicy berry.

Just my experience - I think I mentioned it on another thread.
