Yes, harder to grow than mangosteen. A few folks have grown for a few years, but no one has managed to keep one alive to fruiting as far as I know. I think it's possible with the right cultivar, but we only have access to very few...

Breadfruit are a bit borderline here in Tully .. they are a true ultra-tropical . A cold winter knocked mine down to the ground 2 years ago , but it has come back well this year . I managed to root several cuttings and am planting lots more to be shaded by bananas .

There are dozens, maybe hundreds of varieties and there are some very equatorial types as well as those with more cold tolerance.No one seems to know much about the varieties best suited to the cooler areas.
