I have a Tahitian Lime in a pot (stands about 1m above the soil) and thismorning found what I assume is sap in drops hanging from the green branches. There are no insects that I an see anywhere except one fingernail sized grey spider that took off. I wiped a few of these drops away - sticky - a bit like toffee starting to set on the outside. Anyone have a clue?
2nd problem... a Villa Franka lemon tree planted in the ground - 1.5m tall. The some of the tiny little lemons have turned yellow! The tree doesn't look too happy really - it looks as if its dry, but the soil is damp when i dig down 5cm or so. Yellowing edges on most of the newer and 'middle aged' foliage & green veins - I gave it a sprinkling of chelated iron on both the foliage and the root area last weekend but I read now it is Iron Sodium 12%- I hope I didn't give it a big feed of salt??? Its was planted out in early winter into a sand dune + compost and has had dynamic lifter for citrus as fertiliser. Has anyone any ideas on my citrus problems??

Not sure about the lime tree- but the lemon tree could be lack of iron or magnesium- it's generally iron with citrus though- and chelated iron is the best bet- but will need to be applied regularly during when you're getting growth flushes. Epsom salts can be used for magnesium deficiency. Make up a solution and feed as per the iron.
Ferrous chloride can be used instead- but if your soil is slightly alkaline (e.g. has limestone in it)- won't be soluble- chelated iron is better under those circumstances.
