I bought a White Satin Nectarine from you about 10 months ago. It has developed Curly Leaf as you can see, I have sprayed it with "Yates Leaf Curl" as per instructions but to no avail. Is it detrimential to the tree which is growing very well and has set some fruit. Can you suggest a treatment please as the leaves are shrivelling, going black and falling off. Thank You. Stuart.

Hello Stuart, luckily your tree is not going to die. Unfortunately youre a bit too late for the treatment, as sprays only work on leaf curl while the tree is dormant (the disease overwinters in dead or cracked wood). Because there is nothing you can currently do to stop the disease, you have to try and keep up the tree's vigour by giving it some good fertiliser which is high in nitrogen. Next winter make sure you are proactive with your sprays (a minimum of three sprays spread across winter) and also plant some bulbs of garlic around the truck- garlic seems to help ward off the disease. Good luck! :)

Hello Nick T, Thankyou for your advice. our Nectarine tree was always in full leaf since I bought it from Daley's, it never went dormant as it should have, possibly because it came from QLD. Perhaps next winter it will drop all leaves and go into dormant state. It has set fruit already and I have fed it with high Nitrogen Fertiliser. Will plant Garlic around trunk to help. Again, thank you for your input. Regards Stuart.
