Disease on macadamia tree (forum)

My seven year old A16 macadamia tree looks like it has a disease in the dark areas in the forks of the tree (as shown in the pictures). There appears to be something weeping from the trunk. Can anyone advise what they think the problem is?

What does it look like if you scratch the bark in the infected area. I am wondering if it could be sap running down from a wound in the fork. Is the bark dead in the black area below the fork? If the underbark is brown it is dead if it is green it is alive. If the bark is dead it is likly infection. If it is alive I would think about the possibility a wound, maby even caused by the weight of large weeping branches splitting the fork or perhaps boarers.
