Hi, I was wondering if you could answer a few of my questions regarding the dwarf mulberry.
1. Is the dwarf mulberry suitable for Canberra the hot dry summers and the frosty cold Canberra winters.
2. How many years does this tree take to fruit.
3. Does this berry have a sweet/tangy flavour.
Many thanks,
Mirjana

Hi Mirjana.
Dwarf Mulberries are the second most popular Mail Order Fruit Trees that Daleys sends to the Australian Capital Territory
Here is the most Popular ACT List:

We often sell mulberry trees with fruit on them (Aug-Sep-Nov) so they fruit almost instantly.
The Dwarf Mulberry does have a very sweet flavour compared to the old Mulberry trees that grew wild on farms and we climbed to pick the fruit when we were kids.
I have both in the backyard and the Dwarf Mulberry Tree in my opinion is much sweeter then the normal ones.
If you really liked sweet mulberries you are best to go with the White and Red Shahtoot which are incredibly sweet however they are not as small but you could obviously keep them small either by pruning or growing them in bonsai bags.
