Finger Lime (forum)

My dad has a small citrus orchid and last year we treated a fungus with an equal part mix of chlorox, peroxide and cooking oil. Either the disease had gone to far or we may have overdosed on the treatment because we lost a number of trees shortly after. The good news is we did eliminated the fungus problem. Since we cut the dead trees down there was one tree that started to recover with new shoots coming from the base. My dad says he has been helping it along with regular nitrogen, auxin hormone, seasol and some cytokinin. Now the limes are growing on the tree again but the fruit are clustering together. My dad says that this is now a hybrid but to be honest I'm not sure what that means. I have attached a picture so you can see how the tree looks now.

I always thought that particular fruit was called a Buddha's hand. The finger limes I know are completely different in appearance. Buddha's hand citrus are really only grown for the fragrance of the rind, and as a conversation piece. Some people use them to scent cupboards and drawers as you would a clove studded orange or something.

Its a citron/Buddah's Hand. It seems to have a lot more fingers than any I can recall seeing.

That particular fruit looks like what is known as a Buddha's hand. It doesn't appear like any finger lime I have seen. Buddha's hand citrus are mainly grown for their aromatic rind, which is used to scent drawers and cupboards, much as you would use a clove studded orange

The citrus in the pic is actually a Citron.
A 'Buddha's Hand' Citron to be exact.
That's the way the fruit are supposed to grow.
I haven't heard about that as a remedy for fungal diseases.
It could easily be detrimental if applied to heavily.

I'd say Carly is deleting the posts as it isn't what she wants to hear.

That is not very nice to delete the messages of the people who posted a comment or a hint because they were trying to help.

Maybe Correy could fix this forum site so that the only posts people can delete, are their own. Would be nice.
Also, let everyone have an Edit button on their own posts also.
Can you help us out Correy?
