I have a fig tree that was started in a pot and I put in the ground this spring. Since the weather is starting to change, how do I bury it and when?

I am assuming that you live in a climate with extremely cold winters. Where is NJ by the way?

I read that in these climates people dig a hole next to it, tip the tree sideways and bury it over the winter.

Once the temperature drops below -6 degrees or a bit before would be ideal.

Here is a great website I found that may help you. It offers an alternative to burying it.
