I have this tree growing that I thought was a paw paw tree but its leaves are quite different from my other paw paw trees. Is it a paw paw and if so what type? Thanks.

Hi Tanya,
Yes, this is a common weed in Brisbane. One seed will cause death:
"Castor beans affect all animals and humans. Even one of them may be sufficient to cause death. They contain some of the strongest toxins of our planet

Holy sheep poo batman.
After reading that, Whats the bet that That particular plant is no longer lovingly watered? :)
One seed can kill you, What about the sap when removing? Or best to spray?

Nothing to get too worried about, just dont eat the seeds,
or any other part of the plant. It doesn't taste any good anyway!
Its ok to occupy a spot for a while ,until you're ready to plant something else there.
Then slash it down for mulch or compost.
If your worried about seeds, you can knock the flowers off before they get a chance to set.
The seeds do resemble dry edible beans with pretty markings, that can be dangerous to the young or ignorant.
There is an attractive red-leafed variety of this plant that you may see occasionally.
A fast growing plant.

Hi, I was wondering about my plant. Are these papaya plant or something else? We planted the seeds somewhere else in the backyard and after a long time, this plant is growing along with our money plant. Kindly tell me whether it's a papaya plant? If it's a papaya plant is it ok to plant it in the ground? Here in Sydney it's almost the end of summer. When is the right time to replant? Thanks so much. Gy3
