Hi Lorraine,
I thought they only grew them for their leaves?
If you want fruit, try spraying it with some liquid Potash as per directions on the bottle.

Hi LOrraine, I actually remove the fruits my kaffir bears cause they are of not much use. Not much juice too..I channel their energy to produce leaves which are the ones mainly used from the plant. I guess potash will help with more flowering and fruiting.

I was going to use my Kaffir fruit for zest this crop? I never seem to have enough skin for lemon and lime zest!? I wonder if it will work.

PS - sorry Lorraine - didn't mean to hijack your question...how old is your tree?
Mine is about 3yrs old and only set a good crop of fruit this spring.

Mine fruit the second year it was in the ground and it is very small tree only about half a metre high. Kaffir grows very very slowly.

This tree is about four years old and produces quiet a lot of fruit. The fruit doesn't get to be anywhere near the size of the Tahitian Lime next to it but we prefer their flavour. At best our's grow to a bit larger than a golf ball size.
