Orange spots and dying leaves (forum)

Hi everyone, any help greatly appreciated.

I recently bought an Abiu tree, and when i got it home noticed orange spots on the leaves. Plant has been at home three days and now the ends of the leaves are shrivelled and brown. Seems to only be the old leaves. Plant is still in its pot in full sun, not game to plant it yet because we have had three days of constant rain and don't want to plant it in the boggy soil. Not sure if this could be a result of (a) the change in climate, ie the heat, sun and humidity (b) too much water from all the rain, or (c) some disease. Any help much appreciated - I really don't want the plant to die

Hi Leanne - have you got a dish under the pot? It looks like a build up salts (can be from water if saline - or fertilisers)
When u water it give it a good flush outside and let the pot drain. Weak liquid seaweed flushing is helpful too.
It will be ok - just keep the fertilising very low and weak. If gets worse then repot the plant in fresh mix.
