paw paw flowers fall off (forum)

Bev Braun starts with ...
I have both bisexual and female pawpaw trees about 5 feet high. They get flowers on but they dry up and fall off before they get a chance to grow. Why? I have fertilised them with general fertilizer and potash, the ground is reasonably soft, I have put some chook pen mulch into the ground. The trees look healthy, just the bottom leaves turn yellow and drop off.

How old are the trees, young trees will throw their first few flowers [mine did] before they settle down. Bottom leaves turning yellow? not over watering it by any chance? they like to be on the dry side of moist. Seems that you are doing everything right to me.
