I was wondering if somebody could identify the cause of damage to the orange in the attached photo. My orange tree is relatively healthy: had a few aphids which I got rid of; I thought perhaps a couple of pieces of fruit showed evidence of katydid on their skin. But otherwise tree is healthy. IF it is the only fruit with these symptoms it could be mechanical damage that then got infected, in which case risk of spreading would be unlikly

Did it happen on the tree, on the ground, or after picking?

A good discussion of the causes of this problem in lemons- go to the bottom of the page (citrus bugs when fruit are small, when it was warmer and drier- this has happened to mine)
