Pruning Lime Trees (forum)

Diane starts with ...
At the base of my lime tree, I keep getting shoots of leaves. Should I cut these off or let them grow. Your advice please.

Itdepends says...
If the shoots are above the graft- them keep them if you they'll improve the structure of the tree (i.e. growing where you'd like new branches).
Anything below the graft should be taken off (if you get them young enough you should be able to pull or rub them off the trunk)
