I'm trying to obtain a mirabelle plum, a Peche de Vigne (red-flesh peach) and red banana plants. I've done some searching on the internet, although I can find references to them, I've not been able to locate anyone who has these for sale in Australia. I would appreciate any information that would help me locate them. If anyone reading this have one of these plants, please let me know.

Hi Cindy,
Bunnings sells a dwarf Red Dacca (the plant is green but bananas are red ripening to a sunset orange). Also you can order a number of varieties from backyardbananas.com.au .

I live in western Sydney. My bananas are fruiting for the first time! How do I care for the fruit? When do I pick them? Do I need to bag them on the tree? Any advice would be good.

JUJUBE FOR SALE IN MELBOURNE says...
Hi Mark,

If I was you I would give it some potash and lots of water because these banana plants are heavy feeder.

After the flower has openned for a while you will probably have may be 8 or 10 hands (these will get fatter in few months) then it is time to cut off the bell at the end of the bunch and bag the hands.

All the best.

Thanks Jujube.

I will follow your advice. Will I bag each hand separately or cover the whole bunch with one bag? We've had a bit of a cold snap after some lovely warm days. I hope this will not affect the fruit developing.

JUJUBE FOR SALE IN MELBOURNE says...
Hi Mark,

After removing the bell, you just bag the whole big bunch with one big plastic bag darker colour is preferable. I hope that the bag will protect the hands from cold snap too. Good luck.
