sue, I wouldn't call them trees - they are more of an annual shrub. The flowers will turn into fruit, which you eat or turn into jam. Never had rosella jam, but it seems to be very popular.

I planted 2 rosellas together as I could not separate the roots as they were in the same pot. They've grown beautifully but the buds that looked like fruit turned into flowers briefly and dropped off There is no sign of fruit developing. What do I need to do?
Thanks for anticipated help
Gary

Rosellas grow into quite attractive bushy shrubs under the right conditions, but in Darwin where I sourced the seeds the shrubs were very sparse with lots of 'fruit' on them.
Maybe I have overfed mine because they have produced very few flowers resulting in very few 'fruit'.
However the leaves are edible & have an attractive acid taste like french sorrel.

They are inclined to do that snottiegobble, I then cut mine back and let them re-shoot.
To make them flower/fruit I'm not sure. I feed mine Dynamic Lifter and sulphate of Potash. A spray of condies crystals, not to strong, just pink, could help. You may have overfed yours as you say.

Wow Wayne, youre not kidding when you say you cut them back! I will try that with one bush & also your other suggestions. Must say Condies Crystals is a new one on me, thanks!
