Has anybody heard of the "Snake/snakeskin fruit"? I tried it in Bali, unusual lookin skin as the name suggests, fruit has the texture of a macadamia nut

That is a salak. I have not seen them sold in Market and have never tried them. I know that Cape tribulation organic farm grows them.

Super spiney palms that need constant trimming of leaves and suckers to be able to harvest fruits . BUT well worth it . Some species taste better than others and some look amazing with enormous entire leaves .

The Salak Palm doesnt like cold weather at all. Apparently they are very fussy about their conditions and it has to be right to get fruit. I have read they dont even produce fruit in the singapore botanic gardens. My seedlings perished in the mild winter of the Gold Coast.
