YouTube , Nick Kasko has s fresh take on summer grafting. If you forgot to store scions from winter , he gives you a second chance using new growth : not just chip budding but whole stem grafting.
Worth checking out , I think

Yes, it is an alternative but I had two takes in 18 attempts. . That’s lower than I get with more conventional grafting.
