What are these trees? (forum)

Hi everyone,
We have 2 trees in our backyard we can't identify. Would you mind helping us?
The 1st one is shredding leaves atm (weird cause it's spring). Once it's done it will flower. The flowers are big and white (not much of a description I know). The fruit is green and long, like very long french bean and once dried up look like what you see in the picture: dried curly brown twigs.
The 2nd one is flowering atm, yellow flower. Other than that it doesn't seem to do much all year.
Cheers
Vivian

Hi Vivian,
The first one looks like a Radermachera sinica, or China Doll, usually sold as an indoor plant.

They are a nightmare TBH. Very invasive, and very hard to get rid of.They also create dry shade and send suckers out all over the place.

Vivian,
having a china doll that close to your house is pretty dangerous...they have an abonimable root system which will lift and crack concrete foundations and destroy metal pipes. The one you have looks like a mature tree, so you might have got away with it, but if you're in a position to get rid of it this might be worth considering.

Thank you Starling. We inherit this tree from the previous owner. It does attract lots of pretty birds when it produce fruits so maybe that's why they kept it. I personally would like to remove it but not sure if it's worth spending the money, given it's a pretty big tree and we have had no problem so far (our floor is raised)
On the other hand I want to remove the tree in the 2nd picture as it's half dead and does nothing all year except for flowering now. Still would love to know the name though. Any advice?
