I went manderine shopping today and did a little research imperial and empourer were my choice, Australian varieties, pretty tough, dont mind a bit of chill, and they fruit in winter when not much else does.

By the way the above-mentioned citrus are self pollinating one is enough. I would go to a local nursery and look for a good healthy one. Put it in the ground and give it lots of water, food and sun and it will boom. You could try Ceres nursery i don

Also confused...there should be a good selection in the fruit n veg shops now - to do taste tests on...we have Daisy's in now and they are lovely (bit hard to peel though)
I have imperial which is good - this is common in shops. I also have Emporer - but I find it very bland. I tried an Afourer (spelling?) last season and it was very nice.
If you put mandarin trees close together u will end up with a "seedy" mandarin...
