Where to prune mango (forum)

I have a young dwarf mango tree that is quite tall. Knowing that it is important to prune in the right place I thought I'd check with the experts. The blackened, dried spike is still attached.

Hi I'm no expert. This is my dwarf Irwin in a pot.
You should cut that tip off asap. Above that group of tight internoded leaves. This will send out 4 or more shoots to create a decent structure. Although your tree looks tall and will end up having a large trunk on it for a dwarf. And once top growth starts may become abit flimsy. Just stake it. u could prune 50% , to another part of the tree where the leave a tightly noded. That would giv it a stronger stature.
Hope i could help.

Dwarf Kwan from Forbidden Fruits Nursery.
Edit: Might be spelled Kuan in some places. It is a larger version of Nam Doc Mai and reportedly has very good disease resistance.
