I know this is a very late reply, but for the purpose of others who come across this muntries require sand to grow. There is a journal article about growing them made by the SA government entitled 'Muntries Production' featured in the Australian Bushfoods

lovely little ground cover. extremely drought tolarent. don't know when it'll fruit though.July 2009: I Dug it out of the ground and put it back to the pot. Seems it really doesn't like the soggy clay.
