Custard Apple - Paxton Prolific

$89.00 ($89.00-$99.00 choose a size)

A PBR selection of the popular Pinks Mammoth variety. It has a low seed count and excellent natural fruit set. This means that, unlike some other varieties, there is no need to laboriously hand pollinate each bloom to achieve a good harvest. Unpruned custard apples grow into very large trees. With dedicated, twice yearly pruning it is possible to restrict tree height and spread to 3-4m. This variety is subject to Plant Breeder Rights (PBR).The foliage is delicate on young trees, and our potted plants are known for their older leaves to turn yellow and drop during transport to conserve energy. This is not a problem long term. With care and acclimatisation they will bounce back

Dwarf Apple - Dorsett Golden

$49.00 ($49.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Sweet aromatic apple with yellow fruit and a delightful pink blush and firm white flesh. Low chill requirement allows it to be grown in subtropical climates. Grafted on a dwarfing rootstock they are ideal for backyard plantings.

Durian

$29.00 ($29.00-$69.00 choose a size)

Some people regard the durian as having a pleasantly sweet fragrance and an irresistible flavour; others find the aroma overpowering and it is common for them to be banned from public transport. The spikey fruits need to be handled with care, but once open the true richness of this unique fruit can be appreciated. The flavour is rich and sweet, it can be described as having a hint of roasted sweet potato or onion flavours but the one thing that is certain about the durian is that it tends to grow on people. The more you eat it the more likely you are to fall in love with it. Durian trees have one or two flowering and fruiting periods per year. A typical durian tree can bear fruit after four or five years. The durian fruit can hang from any branch and matures roughly three months after pollination. Growers often tie the fruit up to the branch so that when ready to fall they don't hit the ground and get damaged. Durians are very tropical and we only recommend them from areas north of Mackay in QLD.

Betel Nut

$42.95 ($42.95-$49.00 choose a size)

This medium sized, graceful, tropical palm is also commonly called areca nut, this is not a true nut but the palm seed. The seed is separated from the outer layer of the fruit and may be used fresh, dried, boiled, baked, roasted or cured. They can be chewed in a similar way to chewing tobacco, producing a mildly euphoric and stimulating effect, and helping reduce tension. Betel nuts and betel quids are generally chewed for their psychoactive properties that help reduce tension, produce a feeling of well being and facilitate social interactions and strengthen social ties. Around 10 to 20% of the world's population chews betel nut in some form. This makes it the 4th most widely-used psychoactive substance, after nicotine, alcohol and caffeine.

Dwarf Mulberry - Red Shahtoot

$49.00 ($19.75-$99.00 choose a size)

Much more compact in growth habit than the King White Shahtoot. These delicious sweet fruits can reach 10cm in length. Ideal for back yards and we consider it a must have fruit tree for the back yard. The best way to eat mulberries is fresh from the tree. If some should make it to the kitchen bench they make excellent pies, jams, wines and sauces. Multiple crops are possible by pruning directly after your first crop. Suitable for most regions of Australia, although it can be susceptible to damage from late frosts. The red shahtoot is ideal for growing in pots and containers due to it small growing habit and it is ideal for school gardens as it does not produce fruits that stain and the sweet fruits are very appealing to children. This variety is best suited to warm subtropical climates and does not perform well in temperate climate where it tends to drop their fruit.

Soursop

$34.00 ($17.75-$49.00 choose a size)

The fruit is heart-shaped with a rough green skin and soft fleshy spines. The fresh meaty flesh is juicy and slightly acid producing a rich creamy thirst quenching juice. Superb when fruit is pureed with 1/3 of vanilla ice-cream. Also known as Graviola or Guanaban. Not suitable for temperate climates. But it's more than just a sweet treat.

This fruit is number 1! I've always loved it since I was a child, it grows extremely well in the Philippines. I am growing 4 seedlings at the moment. I hope they survive the winter.
