This variety has good disease resistance. They fruit on the floricanes, which are the canes of two year old growth. Each year prune out the canes that have finished fruiting and tie up the new seasons primocanes. Primocanes on Chilcotin may produce a small autumn crop on their tips, prune these tips back once the fruits are finished, but keep the cane for next years fruit.
