Fruits turn red when ripe. Flesh is red, mild and very sweet. Since Ken's Red is a female be sure to order a male to insure fruit set. Low-chill variety. One of the largest hardy kiwis. Since it crops heavily, it has a tendency to alternate bear. Heavy bearing one year, little or no bearing the next.

Cultivated for the fruit which is dried and used as a spice and seasoning. The fruits are dark red when fully ripe. Immature fruits can be picked as green pepper, black pepper is the fruit dried with the skin on and white pepper is the dried seed only. Black pepper is the worlds most widely traded spice.

A mid-season variety. Fruit production commences in early June. Fruit are exceptionally attractive red, glossy, conical, L to XL sized (20g), firm and resilient, with resistance to rain damage. Flesh is bright red, of low acidity, and excellent sweet flavour. Fruit are well displayed, and easily harvested. Eating quality is exceptionally high. Sugarbaby received the highest score in the Better Berries Field Day taste tests at Redlands in July 2003. Well suited to local niche market sales. Garlic - Picone Purple

Heirloom hardneck variety of garlic that produces plump bulbs of excellant rich flavoured cloves early in the season. Performs very well in the Subtropics. Medium heat and a strong flavour make this a favourite variety to grow by home gardeners. The cloves have purple streaks and are surrounded by a thick outer layers of purplish-white papery wrappers. Plant from late March to late April to harvest in September/October.

Strawberry - Rubygem

Rubygem is a short-day strawberry. It produces high yields of moderately firm, attractive, juicy and delicious red fruit from late autumn through early spring and into summer in the strawberry-growing district in Southeast Queensland. Rubygem is recommended for areas with mild winter climates, as it requires little to no chill. Strawberries perform best where rainfall is minimal during harvest. Strawberries respond very well to regular feeding during the growing season, so be sure to keep fertilised and well watered for big tasty strawberries and apply a seaweed solution regularly to keep plants healthy.
