Jakfruit - Yullatin

Produces small fruit 3 - 12kg with large pale yellow arils that are essentially crisp but have a creamy soft texture. Super delicious.

The fragrant fruits of the citron are highly variable in shape and texture. They can be oblong or oval, rough or smooth. The rind is very thick and when candied peel it is used as a common ingredient in fruit cakes, plum pudding and sweet rolls. If fully ripened on the tree the fruits are very aromatic and yellow - orange, they can be placed in a bowl to scent a room. Sensitive to frost, the foliage and fruit can also be damaged by intense heat and drought. Citron has been cultivated since ancient times, and is still much revered today for cultural and religious reasons. Exclusion Net - 6m x 6m

This strong net is ideal for covering most fruit trees and vegetable gardens. It is also called Bee netting, as it is used to exclude Bees from pollinating fruit trees that need to be kept seedless. It is UV stabilised and it will last years if stored after each seasons fruit protection. It is a 50gsm weave. This is 6m wide and sold in multiples of 6m length, please specify in special instructions on the order if you need them cut into 6m units, as the default is to leave whole, eg 6x12m, or 6x18m up to a maximum of 6x30m. We highly recommended this for the exclusion of insects, birds and especially Fruit Fly. Fruit Fly females are large being 8mm long and sting fruit to lay their eggs only a few weeks before ripening. They shouldn't be confused with the smaller 'vinegar fly' which only attacks overripe and fallen fruit and are very hard to exclude even with 2mm netting.

Upright vigorous avocado producing pear shaped fruit of medium quality. It is regarded as the most cold hardy variety, sometimes surviving down to -5degC. It does require care to bring this subtropical tree through winter. Worth trying in urban Victoria or South Australia. H March - May
