Fuyu is a semi-dwarf variety, well suited to growing in small backyards and can be kept to 2m with pruning. The fruit is large and flat, orange-red in colour with a sweet, mild flavour. Great eaten crunchy but just luscious when left to go soft. Besides producing delicious fruit, Persimmons are highly ornamental with their beautiful autumn foliage. Non astringent, so can be eaten when still hard. When young, protect from hot afternoon sun, and when dormant, from wet conditions. Seedless when grown on their own. If cross pollinating with another variety they can have seeds in the flesh as shown in the display picture.

$42.95

The fruit has a pale orange skin that is inclined to be puffy. Excellent flavour and loose skin that is very easy to peel. Most popular mid season variety. The fruit can be prone to drying if harvest is delayed. Flying Dragon modifies the top growth making this a dwarf plant that is ideal to use planted out or as a pot specimen. Trees will grow to about half the normal citrus size. Flying Dragon rootstock also adds cold hardiness and grows well in heavier soils, like Trifoliatia rootstock.

Miracle Fruit

$24.90 ($19.75-$79.00 choose a size)

Although not sweet itself this miraculous fruit, consumed fresh and allowed to coat the mouth alters your tastebuds so that everything you eat tastes sweet, lasting for an hour or two. It's extraordinary. The beauty of it is that it only removes the sourness 'acidity' from what you are eating, the natural aroma and taste remains. It has been used to sweeten bitter medicines. For success the plant prefers a pH as low as 4.5. A great companion for your blueberries. Requires a sheltered position free from frost and partial shade. Excellent unusual potted plant that can be moved into a sunny spot indoors during the cooler months, and indeed right through the year with adequate sun. Very slow growing and best to grow as a potted planted until at least 1 metre high Further Information: Rare Fruit Review

Dwarf Banana - Nathan

Dwarf Avocado - Hazzard (A)

This dwarf avocado arrived safely and quickly. I planted it with my other citrus trees, in a deep hole filled with compost, gypsum, manure and soil to add to my clay soil base I naturally have. It's got a lot of new growth and seems happy. It is watered daily to every second day by hose, in Ipswich where it doesn't rain that much. I have only just this week set up a single drip irrigation system to this plant which it will receive early morning when the pipes aren't hot

Dwarf Avocado - Hazzard (A)

Happily planted in the right spot in my daughter's garden. They had a very large very productive avocado tree in their previous home and wanted another but space was more limited. This dwarf looks an excellent replacement and is growing happily in its new site.
