Black Sapote - Colossal

$69.00

Seedling selection from Kyogle, very large fruit and self pollinating. Seedless when not pollinated. Closely related to the Persimmon this attractive glossy foliaged tree produces a fruit often called the 'Chocolate Pudding Fruit'. Delicious when eaten as a desert with cream and a touch of Rum or vanilla.

Lime - Tahitian

$37.00 ($37.00-$69.00 choose a size)

The small to medium fruit is pale lemon-yellow with smooth thin skin. The flesh is a translucent pale green, tender and juicy with a true acid lime flavour. It is best to pick the fruit green as it can suffer from rot if left to ripen on the tree.

Black Sapote - Bernicker

$69.00 ($69.00-$79.00 choose a size)

This Chocolate Pudding fruit variety has proved very popular in Australia. The near spherical fruit is medium to large with only 1 or 2 seeds. Superb eating quality and prolific producer.

Nectarine - Sun Snow

$49.00 ($49.00-$64.00 choose a size)

Low chill, clingstone, med-large white fleshed Nectarine. Fruit has a lovely blush and can be shaped irregularly with a pronounced midline. An excellent variety for eating fresh and for cooking.

Black Sapote - Ricks Late

$64.00 ($64.00-$99.00 choose a size)

This Chocolate Pudding Fruit selection from northern NSW has excellent eating qualities. Crops well into late spring to extend the harvest. Heavy cropper. Also called 'Chocolate Pudding Fruit'. Delicious when eaten as a desert with cream and a touch of Rum or vanilla

Loquat - Nagasakiwase

$54.00 ($54.00-$79.00 choose a size)

The best Japanese variety so far, it has deep orange flesh, high flesh/seed ratio and very sweet flavour. Earliest variety to ripen. Thinning fruit will enhance fruit size. The Nagasakiwase often has 2 crops a year in the subtropics. The first crop in April / May then again in August. We have found by cincturing in summer, the August crop has a much larger crop and better fruit size.

Bought this for cross pollination, but also because it's a plant I've had on the list for a while now. Haven't planted out, waiting for more regular rain, might put in a bigger pot

Carambola Starfruit - Arkin

My mother grew them when I was a teenager, & I just love the quirky shape. My husband often takes a home made fruit salad to work for his lunch, & the reason I chose these trees was to add a lovely flavour & interesting shapes to the mix. Both trees I purchased were planted straight away into pots, to get them started. They were very wilted looking for many, many weeks, but just recently I noticed both have a multitude of new shoots sprouting - so it's very exciting. Thank you.

Carambola Starfruit - Arkin

My father was Morris Arkin. He developed the Arkin Carombola in our backyard in Coral Gables FL. He was originally was a stock broker for 30 years with no background in horticulture. He also developed a soft shell macadamia nut. Such wonderful memories!
