mine didnt. but they were very young
but they reshot in spring and it was a severe winter
i think youd have a good chance

Euterpe edulis fruits well in NNSW, easy to grow and quick.
I tried Acai from seed about 15-18yrs ago but lost them over winter, probably more from neglect though.
I'd give them a go anywhere coastal NSW north of Sydney.
worth a go.

The Acai in the Townsville Palmetum is flowering ATM
ill keep an eye on it and see if it decides to set fruit this year
theres two plants so i hope that takes care of pollination
plenty of other palms set fruit there
i helped myself to whats labelled as Attalea amygdalina, but i dont think is - tasty fruits
Also tried Doum palm. disappointing. the fruits sure do smell like Ginger bread but are dry and fibrous. might make a good flour extender if ground. you'd sure be regular!
