Apple tree flowering now? (forum)

Hi peoples,

I have 2 dwarf apple trees in pots, one of them, a pink lady, is flowering profusely now, in late summer?? The other, a royal gala, hasn't even got any buds so its going to have a hard time pollinating the pink lady!!

Anyone have any ideas why its flowering now? Are my two trees going to be out of sync now? Will it still flower in spring?

I am going to put it in the backyard for the weekend (its on the balcony now) so the bees can get to it, but I don't think any neighbors have apple trees :(

probably didn't get enough chill to flower in spring or dropped its flowers and now figures it better to go (again). If they're young trees, I'd pull the flowers off.

my pinkabelle (also a pink lady apple) did it last year. i pulled them off. this years apples (I left 5) are now getting good size.

Ahh it will make me pretty sad to pull the flowers off, all potential baby apples.

It was planted in spring from nursery and this is its first flowering.

Quag, this happened to my Gala apple last year too. The flowers fell off by themselves as the weather cooled down.
