Avo Flowers - When do different varieties flower? (forum)

We inherited a 16+ yo avo and I'm told by the longstanding neighbours fruiting has been quite poor over the years. I'm sure its a Type A but I don't what variety. How critical is the selection of a matching Type B plant? I really want them flowering at the same time.
For context (which may help eliminate certain varieties), we are on the Gold Coast and it appears to be finishing flowering now (mid Oct).
I've been hand pollinating this year but would like to plant the seed (so to speak) for a more fruitful method in the coming years.
Thanks heaps!
