Hi,
Just wondering if the discolouration of this tree around the base of the stem/trunk signifies there is something wrong with it? If so is it fixable? Its an avocado fuerte

I don't think your Fuerte is going to make it. It is dying and the discolouration around the trunk is in my opinion beyond saving.

Not sure but perhaps that is collar rot. You could try removing some of the soil near the base and spraying the trunk at the base with Yates Anti Rot.
