Berry plants with shrivelled leaves! (forum)

Jequila starts with ...
I was gifted some Berry plants (Raspberry, Blueberry and Blackberry) for Christmas this year, but they're not doing so well. They're in large pots, so I moved them to where they only get a bit of morning sun and they get plenty of water. But for some reason their leaves are shrivelling up and going dry and brown around the edges!
What should I do to make them happy? I'm a gardening newbie so any advice is appreciated :) I have no idea what I'm doing, haha!

Bramble berries (Raspberry, Blackberry etc) are hard to grow successfully in pots (they really need moist cool roots in the sub-tropics), best to plant out and they will eventually recover.Just make sure the garden-bed can be contained as they will want to spread underground and you'll have them shooting up in surrounds. The Blueberry should pick up in its new position, but will eventually need more sun (mine get full sun much of the morning, then dappled light in afternoon, and are currently growing and fruiting). Browned leaves will not recover, but you should see new healthy growth. Blueberries are happy living in pots - just remember that they do like acid and moist soil. Small, relatively frequent feeds of Azalea/Camelea fertilizer are good. Again, if potting up use an Azalea mix. I also have a small amount of water in saucer under pot - you shouldn't do this with most plants, but the Blueberries are ok with it (they're naturally bog plants.)Good luck Jequila!

Thanks for the reply! I live in a unit, so I have no garden to plant the raspberries and blackberries into :( Should I wrap their pots with something to try and keep them cool?

Larger pots would be better Jequila....some mulch too, preferably something organic that breaks down over time.
