Bird netting for fruit trees (forum)

We need to place anti bird netting on our fruit trees. Would prefer black as white is not good on the eyes.
Any ideas as to suppliers, and how much netting will we need for 4 apple trees. They are about 8 foot high and 5 foot wide.
Have seen some posts about nets catching on leaves and fruit, so possibly the smaller the mesh, the better.

You can do the calculation 2.3 metres high times 2 equals roughly 5 metres and add 2 metres for growth ; that can be your width ie 7 metres . Then there will be a minimum buy ,say , 50 metres. You can sometimes score with vinenets in WA for second hand stuff. Even so you can be up for a bit of money.

Yes they distort the upper canopy a bit. I did an experiment yesterday an ended up with this.
Just some electrical conduit over reo bar and draped the netting over the structure.

John, is that bird netting or mosquito net? I have used lengths of black irrigation pipe to do the same thing.
