Black Sapote Pollination (forum)

I have a black sapote, about 3 1/2 years old. It is growing brilliantly and is about 5m tall. It had flowers all over it last spring, but only set one fruit. It is flowering again now, should I be hand pollinating to get the best out of it or will fruit set improve as it gets older ? How do you hand pollinate these trees as I cant find anything on the net. Any help much appreciated

Hi Jason,
Your correct in saying fruit set will improve as it gets older. Best thing in the meantime is to keep the water up to it as much as possible.
