Hi Guys
I have an established blueberry bush that has not got any leaves on it. I haven't had the bush for long, but assumed that by this time of year it should have grown new leaves? Hope I haven't sulfured it to death!

My Blueberry bush has leaves all year round, and is flat out flowering at the moment, so it does not sound too good to me. I suspect that yours may have changes names to be a Cactus defunctus!

gus, you may have done what I did (or suspect I did). I probably added too much iron sulphate all at once. You are supposed to add anything that changes pH gradually.
My plants died, but I hope to buy new ones this week.

highbush and lowbush varieties do different things too. Misty Sharpe Nellie Kelly should be flowering and have some leaves, probably with new growth right now.
Others might still look like twigs. I've only got a Northland and it might be on its way to heaven. Not happy looking. But the last time I was at Tass1 his looked pretty twiggy, just not as sad as mine.
I was pretty gentle with iron sulphate but I've now added a few times and not seen as much effect on ph as I was expecting. not sure whether its my cheap ph meter or something actually at play with the ph. anyone got a reference for how long it takes iron sulphate to have an effect and how often it needs topping up?

Hi, G'day. My blueberries are Kelly Nelly, bought from Bunnings. Are they considered highbush or lowbush? Thanks.

In response to gus don't give up hope because some blueberry varieties are deciduous. Just recently I bought a blueberry plant and it still hasn't grown leaves. Tecko, they both belong to the same family of plants, its just that Highbush are cultivated types while Lowbush are wild types, so I'm guessing Nelly Kelly would be Highbush.
