I've just run across a couple of photos I took last year in Bowen. They have finished picking these fields and as you can see, they leave a lot behind.

Two photos of poisoned gourmet tomatoes waiting to have the trellises stripped out. One patch of tomatoes on the ground and a watermelon patch waiting to be ploughed

Wayne , they leave lots behind don't they ! I drove past a field close to home in Childers and saw heaps of lovely red tomatoes left on the ground . Backpackers told me , they had to throw them away as they would not make it to market before spoiling . I picked up about 100litres and made paste , went back for more and made 50 jars of salsa .

What's that old saying? "WASTE NOT WANT NOT!"
Absolutely unbeliev'able! Surely someone up there could start a tomato sauce/paste business?
