I'm interested in creating a fruit salad citrus tree and would like to order different varieties from AusCitrus - however the problem is they require a minimum order quantity of 50 bud per variety (which is 30 bucks each variety) is anyone here wanting to do the same and want to shares costs - as I won't need 50 buds each!

They usually come in sticks of 10 buds to 15 buds. For 50 buds you might get 5 sticks or so. If you are budding you might get 10 buds off each stick. For grafting you might use a 3 bud section from each bud stick for the scion, so one supplied budstick might only do 3 or 4 grafts.
I agree 50 minimum is a lot to find a use for, unless you have rootstocks to put them into, even with some failures or putting 2 buds into each stock etc.

Yes you are correct - I misunderstood what a bud was initially and thought it was 50 sticks worth of wood not a few sticks with quite a few buds on it - either way its still very expensive to buy so many so i'm still looking at someone willing to share a purchase with - any takers?

For what you will spend at minimum for the buds of each variety, you could probably buy a budded tree of each. You could then cut buds from that potted tree. And you could repeat later if there were failures. Looking foward to see how it goes.
