The tree and fruit grow at Bugagali Falls in Uganda, locals say it is good to eat. Does anyone knowe the name of the tree or fruit???

could it be a Java Plum??? The botanical names escapes me at present, Sysygium/ Eugenia one of those!

It is definitely one of the lilly pilly families Syzygium or Eugenia as Robyn says. Maybe try an internet search for native Ugandan species and search from there.
