It is definitely one of the lilly pilly families Syzygium or Eugenia as Robyn says. Maybe try an internet search for native Ugandan species and search from there.

Try" marulan ". This is an African fruit and the wood makes the most extremely perfect toilet seats. This information may one day save a life.
