Hi
Would anyone know which cherimoya variety has that distinct pineapple taste/flavour? Is it the fino de jete?????
Thanks

Fino is more a Sherbety kind of Cherimoya, one that is "fruit salad flavour" (for me those are the best ones anyway) others do have a distinct Pineapple flavour and others more bananaish but almost all the Cherimoyas I've tasted have been seedlings, I haven't tasted many named varieties so I can't give you a name, only that it is possible

I can recommend these two without reservation ;Spain is partially self -fertile and ,in my opinion, tastes a little better. White is larger and has fewer seed but can be a little less intense in flavour. Both are just wonderful.

I'm not sure where John is but White needs a fairly warm climate compared to some other Cherimoyas (like Fino). Sydney should be fine though. Fino has a stronger flavour that White, White is much sweeter in a warm enough climate
