Hi TMary, try a couple of t-spoons of boron (borax) dissolved in a 9 litre watering can around the root zone :-)

What would the boron do, Brendan? Untie the knots? Only a few are like that and they are rather cute, I thought :) BTW it's MaryT but they made me take a new name when I was using another device. I now join the ranks of multiple personalities on this forum.

Hi MaryT, yes, it should make 'em straight :-) That's what I use on snap beans if they grow and curl up.

Thanks, Brendan - hey how did you go with that cinnamon cutting? I started another one in October and it's still going. May have some tiny roots developing.

Hi MaryT, bad luck with the cinnamon cutting I'm afraid. Hope yours takes off! :-)

I will keep trying Brendan. I have to cut back my cinnamon all the time due to its intrusion of the neighbour's airspace. If I have success I'll send you one.

My Cinnamon bush is still too small to try any propagation methods on it just yet, but I'm interested in how your cuttings go.
If they are hard to strike Mary, try air layering them. I sometimes have trouble with striking the Panama berry when conditions are not ideal. The air layering method works every time, Fejoa's included.

Thanks for the suggestion, John. I will try it - it would also help me keep the tree smaller. Mine is in a pot but grows big and fast (flowering). Did it successfully with a lemon tree once.
