I can't seem to get good fruit from my 6 yr old China flat peach. I grow heaps of other varieties but the China flat is rock hard and small one week and a flourery mush the next week and still small. Is there any trick to growing these flat peaches in hot summer area? From now to Jan is there anything special I can do to help this tree do its thing?

Okee dokee is patented to flemings, its the (much) improved version of china flat, which is very much a wild type.
So pinch an OD budstick from Dawsons, Bunnings etc or buy a whole tree!!
I can probably get you some budwood
ex mates places if you list the types.
How are the macadamias?

Thanks Jimmy,
I will invest in a couple of varieties and grow them up now so that I can have some decent scion wood by July 2010 to use for top working the old China Flat.
I will get around to a My Edibles page and one day 'show off' my first ever graft experience. Don't hold your breath!
