Hi Everyone.

First post here been reading this forum for a long time now.

Was wondering if there is anyone in the Edgeworth NSW or surrounding areas that would allow me to take cuttings from there citrus plants. Trying to learn how root them as i can do it with alot of other types of plants.

My prize plants are my Citrus Lime,Lemon,Orange,Lemonade,6 graft fuit salad tree. As you can see i prefer them : ), If there is anyone that is close and could offer me a few cuttings ill be willing to give you a few bucks or i could give you some Mint and Minette basil both last years and never run out of either.

Thanks for your time : )

Maybe don't restrict yourself to just the Edgeworth area, there are growers all over Australia of rare fruit who are happy to exchange cuttings, seed, live plants. Many citrus grow true from seed as well, and a lot of the regular contributors to this forum may have something you are interested in if you can be more specific.. if you haven't already looked at Louis Glowinski's book about fruit growing there is quite a bit of info about which citrus seeds are likely to give you a worthwhile plant to add to your collection.

Its a good book, but the title is quite misleading. For those in the warm subtropics and tropcs it holds little more relevant information than 50 shades of grey. The best books for up here and for those interested in growing tropicals and subtropicals are still the internationals Lorenzi, Morton etc mixed with locals - Norrington etc mixed with DPI books for relation to specific conditions and problems.

I have it but it is totally useless for my area. The sections on tropical fruit are good for belly laughs only.It is a good book for apples and stonefruit.

Citrus isn't too bad, which is what Gumnut was looking for - a bit of discussion on polyembryony vs monoembryony which may be useful is selecting what might be worth propagating.
