You can grow it in a pot but I don't know how long it'll take to make coffee :) - mine is in a 50cm plastic pot at the foot of a jacaranda, surrounded by black bamboo. The tree is an arabica from Daleys. Its glossy green leaves makes it look the happiest tree in the yard.

Amanda, of all my plants the coffee gets the least attention because of its position but it was potted in premium mix and initially watered with seasol. Nothing much after that; maybe a handful of b&b at some point. :) You are the second person who tells me I have a green thumb this week, but we've had a lot of rain in Sydney and I think that made a difference.

Mary T I can confirm that rain makes thumbs go green.I also was told I had a green thumb recently but no one ever said it to me during the dry season.

Yes Mike I believe you know what you're talking about! It's the night before Xmas for me - I can't wait to pick up my parcel at the PO tomorrow (if it arrives).

You may be disapppointed with the selection just wait and see.It is going straight to the Lane not the PO box.I'm still loaded with other options should you turn your nose up and want a refund.I'm only semi-retired from posting.

lachie, no problem with pots. I've got a 1.8m specimen that fruits its head off in a terracotta tub. Just keep out of too much sun or they get a bit sooky. I eat the berries sometimes. Cant drink coffee and cant be bothered with preparing them. I'd just up size the pots as they grow and aim to eventually gather a few good sized terracotta tubs and pop them in shady spots. You dont really need to repot them often - they are pretty happy in a good pot.
