beau starts with ...
I planted this davidsons plum earlier in the year. it has put on new (red) growth and seems quite happy and healthy but i cant get past how pale a green it is (it was this colour when i bought it from a reputable nursery). i have seen hundreds of this plant and most have a deep green foliage. i also spotted what appears to be a variegated leaf. If anyone could explain why my tree is so pale woud be awsum.

Hey Beau ...most likely you are growing it out in full sun and a little nitrogen deficient. Most rainforest plants yellow a little when grown in full sun - especially when young.
Nothing to worry about - healthy new growth is a great sign you plant is doing fine.
