Disease in apple fruit (forum)

I have 2 apple trees growing in my Brisbane backyard, an Anna and a Tropical Sweet. The fruit from the TS is fine however that from the Anna is affected by some sort of mould that seems to begin at the blossom end as the fruit ripens. It is visible on the outside as a brownish discolouration on the bottom portion of the fruit. Once the fruit is cut open the problem is obvious.
I have done several google searches to no avail.
Is anyone able to identify this disease and suggest a solution. Thanks for any advice.
